Ladies Open-Age Football for Season 08-09!
This coming season last season's U16G make the move to open-age football, looking to build on another successful season. The highlight was representing Nottinghamshire in the Central Region finals of the U16G Tesco Cup, losing on penalties in the final but not conceding a goal in the competition against the best teams of other counties.
WB Colts Ladies are looking to add to a squad that has desire to win and quality throughout and for the first time have the opportunity to draw on the experience of older players. Competition will be tough and if you are looking for a challenge, please contact us.
In a first year of 11-a-side football West Bridgford Colts Girls U13 finished as League runners-up which in itself was an excellent achievement, but we were also rewarded by the League and our opponents with the U13 Sportsmanship Award, an honour which the team, and parents, thoroughly deserved. Through the experience of that first year and key signings in the closed season, Season 05-06 was proven to be an exciting one and clinching the League title on the last day of the season, without defeat, was a magnificent achievement. In addition, to have received the Sportsmanship Award for a second successive season spoke volumes. Hard work on the training ground and excellent team spirit let the Girls' passion for the game shine through in performances on the pitch. Denied a second successive League title in season 06-07, the season was notable for two achievements - every player in the squad scored a goal and an excellent defence kept the number of League goals conceded to single figures. Winning the League Cup capped a brilliant season for a team that matured over the year. In season 07-08 injury hit hard, particularly in a tough April that led to a third place League finish and a norrow, tense defeat in the League Cup final. Thanks again go to parents for their commitment to fair play and to the team....and to all supporters of West Bridgford Colts.
