Training

Summer: Every Wednesday 6pm till 7.30pm at Boots training ground Lady Bay

 

Winter: Every Wednesday 6pm til 7.30 pm from  at Gresham Astro Turf.

 

Please advise any of the coaches if your son is unable to attend training.  The number of children determines the weekly training programme.

Training Programme

A structured training programme will be performed each week.  The format of the training programme will be:

 

  • General discussion
  • 15 minutes warm-up/conditioning
  • 20 minutes skill session
  • 20 minutes mini-football game
  • 5 minutes feedback/cooldown

 

Sessions may run 5-10 minutes over.

Equipment

Children should have the following:

 

  • Shinpads with ankle protectors (preferably)
  • Trainers/football boots
  • Drink
  • Waterproof jacket/fleece
  • Smile!

Subs

The cost for subs during the winter season will be £3 per week.  This is payable by every player irrespective of whether they attend a session or not.

During the summer season, the cost will be £2 per week.

Players who participate in matches will be charged £2.50 per week, and will be advised accordingly by Steve.

Code of Conduct

West Bridgford Colts has a club charter for parents, players and the team and it is important that the parents and players read the club charters. 

 

More specifically, the coaches request the following;  

 

1.        Encourage the kids to be respectful i.e shake the coaches/players hand when arriving and leaving.

 

2.        Encourage kids to be motivated by being supportive.

 

3.        Encourage the kids to listen and be attentive during training. 

 

4.        Do not interfere with training unless specifically requested by the coaches.

 

5.        If you need to discuss aspects of training, then contact any of the coaches after training and in private.
